# Self-ordering kiosks for UK attractions and venues

> Self-ordering kiosks for UK attractions, arenas and bars, installed by Posso, and VenueOra's own kiosks for walk-in tickets, payments and check-in compared.

Canonical page: https://venueora.com/self-ordering-kiosks

Posso, our hardware and installation partner, supplies self-ordering kiosks for food and drink at UK theme parks, trampoline parks, arenas and bars. VenueOra adds its own kiosks for walk-in ticket sales, on-site payments and check-in. This page explains what each one does.

## How it works

1. Choose the kiosk points: We agree where kiosks go and what each one is for: Posso self-ordering kiosks at the food hall, bar and concourse, and VenueOra kiosks at the entrance for walk-in tickets, payments and check-in.
2. Posso installs and trains: Posso installs the self-ordering kiosks, connects them to your tills and kitchen display, and trains your team. Posso reports free setup and training across its customers, with UK-based support afterwards.
3. Guests order and pay: The guest builds the order on screen and pays by card or contactless at the kiosk. The order goes to the kitchen display, and VenueOra processes the card payment on the Posso platform.
4. Walk-ins buy at the VenueOra kiosk: At the entrance, a VenueOra kiosk sells tickets for the current event, takes on-site payments by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, scans tickets and RFID, and finds a member with a second verification step.

## What you get

- Self-ordering kiosks for UK venues: Posso kiosks for food and drink at attractions, arenas, leisure centres and bars, supplied, installed and supported by Posso. Guests order and pay without a member of staff, while your tills stay open for guests who prefer to be served.
- Higher order value, says Posso: Posso reports up to 30% higher average order value with kiosks across its own customers. The figure is Posso's, not ours, and depends on your menu, your guests and how the kiosk is placed.
- Straight to the kitchen display: Orders from the kiosk appear on the kitchen display system alongside orders from tills and table ordering, in sequence, so the kitchen works one queue whichever way the guest ordered.
- VenueOra kiosks sell tickets, not food: A VenueOra kiosk is a different machine. Registered to your venue, it sells walk-in tickets for the current event, takes on-site payments and checks guests in. It does not take a food order; that is the Posso kiosk's job.
- Member search and scans: The VenueOra kiosk scans tickets and RFID, finds a member by search with a second verification step, and, where the venue uses that hardware, runs face verification or enrolment and pairs a wristband.
- Skate-hire kiosk: For ice rinks, the skate-hire kiosk scans the ticket, lets the guest pick a size and allocates a pair of skates into a locker, so the kit and the locker stay together for the session.

## Outcomes

- Faster service, says Posso: Posso reports service up to three times faster and labour cost reductions of up to 25% across its customers. Those are Posso's figures; what you can count on is more ordering points without more staff on the till.
- Walk-ins served without a till queue: A guest who turns up without a ticket buys one at the VenueOra kiosk and is checked in from the same record as online sales, so the entrance keeps moving without another member of staff.
- One partnership for both kiosks: Posso supplies, installs, trains and supports the self-ordering kiosks, kitchen display and tills. VenueOra supports its own kiosks and processes the card payments on both, so you deal with one partnership rather than separate hospitality and ticketing vendors.

## A food kiosk and a ticket kiosk are different machines

Most venues that search for a self-ordering kiosk want a guest to order a burger without queuing. That is Posso's kiosk. A venue that wants a walk-in guest to buy a ticket, pay on site or scan in at the door wants VenueOra's kiosk. We supply both through one partnership and say plainly which does what.

- Posso brings the ordering kiosks: Posso supplies, installs, trains and supports self-ordering kiosks, tills, kitchen display and digital menu boards for food and drink. Posso reports 500+ UK restaurants and venues on its platform.
- VenueOra brings the ticket kiosk: VenueOra's kiosk is registered to your venue from the Kiosk and Payment Terminals module. It sells walk-in tickets, takes on-site payments, scans tickets and RFID and checks guests in against the guestlist.
- VenueOra processes the payments: VenueOra provides the payment processing on the Posso platform, so the card payment at a Posso kiosk and at a VenueOra kiosk go to the same PCI DSS Level 1 acquiring partner. Card data never touches either kiosk.
- Figures stay attributed: When we quote order value or service speed, the figure is Posso's, from its own customers. We do not present partner results as ours, and we will tell you what to expect for your menu after a site visit.

ePOS, kiosk and kitchen display hardware is supplied, installed and supported by Posso Ltd under our partnership. Performance figures are Posso's, from its own customers.

## Questions

Q: How much does a self ordering kiosk cost in the UK?
A: Posso quotes the kiosks, with installation and training, alongside your ePOS software licence; there is no kiosk price list on this site. The quote depends on how many units you need, where they are placed and whether tills and kitchen display are part of the same installation. Posso reports free setup and training across its customers. VenueOra's own ticket kiosks and the card processing underneath both are quoted with your plan. Ask from the pricing page and we return one written quote.

Q: Do self-service kiosks increase order value?
A: Posso reports up to 30% higher average order value with kiosks across its own customers. That is Posso's figure, not a VenueOra result, and it varies with menu design, pricing and where the kiosk stands. What a kiosk reliably changes is that every guest sees the full menu at their own pace, which a busy till cannot offer at peak. We will talk through realistic expectations for your venue before you commit.

Q: Who installs the kiosks and trains our staff?
A: Posso, our hardware and installation partner, installs the self-ordering kiosks and trains your team. Across Posso's customers, setup and training are free, support is UK-based and critical support response is under 15 minutes. The kiosks, tills, kitchen display and menu boards come from the same supplier, so one installation covers the lot. VenueOra registers and supports its own ticket kiosks and provides the payment processing, and stays your point of contact for anything on the ticketing side.

Q: Can the kiosk take payment and send the order to the kitchen?
A: Yes. The guest pays by card or contactless at the Posso kiosk and the order appears on the kitchen display system in sequence with orders from the tills. VenueOra provides the payment processing on the Posso platform, and card data goes to a PCI DSS Level 1 acquiring partner rather than to the kiosk. The order itself lives in the Posso system; VenueOra does not report food and drink sales.

Q: Will a kiosk replace my till staff?
A: No, and we would not suggest it. A kiosk adds ordering points so that guests who are happy to serve themselves do, while staff serve those who want a person, manage the queue and run the kitchen. Posso's own figure is labour cost reductions of up to 25% across its customers; in practice that tends to mean covering peaks without adding to the rota rather than removing the till. Keep at least one staffed point open.

Q: What is the difference between a Posso kiosk and a VenueOra kiosk?
A: A Posso self-ordering kiosk takes a food and drink order and sends it to the kitchen display; Posso supplies, installs and supports it. A VenueOra kiosk is registered to your venue in the Kiosk and Payment Terminals module and sells walk-in tickets for the current event, takes on-site payments, scans tickets and RFID, finds a member with a second verification step, and, where you use that hardware, runs face verification and pairs a wristband. A rink adds the skate-hire kiosk. VenueOra processes the card payments on both.
