Arenas and stadiums

The fan scans in and taps to pay from door to concession

VenueOra runs arena ticketing and cashless payments in the UK: ticket types with capacity, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes, QR check-in at doors and kiosks, VenueOra kiosks for walk-in sales, Posso UK tills and kiosks for concessions, and lockers for bags and chargers.

A day at your venue

What happens, in order

  1. 01

Buy a ticket, add to wallet

A fan buys a ticket for a concert, fixture or show. Each ticket type has its own price and capacity, and scheduled publishing fixes the on-sale moment. The ticket arrives by email and in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

  2. 02

    Scan at the door

Door staff in reception mode scan QR codes on phones and kiosks at each entrance, and a ticket already used is rejected. Live capacity and sales show on the event in the dashboard while the doors are open.

  3. 03

    Buy at the kiosk

A walk-in fan buys at a VenueOra self-serve kiosk and pays by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The kiosk sells tickets and takes on-site payments, with a device heartbeat so staff know every kiosk is up.

  4. 04

Tap for a pie and pint

Concession tills and self-ordering kiosks from Posso UK, our hardware and installation partner, take cards and contactless. VenueOra provides payment processing on the Posso platform; the tills are a separate system from the ticket.

  5. 05

Lock a bag, charge a phone

LockVault lockers on the concourse hire by tapping a card at the kiosk in under 30 seconds. Charging lockers top up a phone before the encore, and the venue receives a share of rental revenue.

  6. 06

    Read the night’s report

Sales, VAT, year-on-year and daily capacity reports cover tickets and passes. Orders can be refunded, reissued or resent by email or SMS from the dashboard, and payouts follow merchant verification.

The stack

What the venue runs on

  1. Ticket types and capacity

Concerts, sport and shows sell with several ticket types per event, each with its own price and capacity, and live sales on the event. Discount codes and campaign URLs tie sales to a partner or a promotion.

  2. QR check-in at doors and kiosks

Reception mode on phones and kiosks at each entrance: current event, guestlist search by guest, order or ticket, and QR scan. A ticket already used is rejected, and tickets can be reissued from the order.

  3. Season tickets as memberships

Season tickets and supporter schemes run as annual or monthly plans priced by the venue, with renewal reminders and lifecycle emails for due, lapsed and win-back holders. Ticket types can be restricted to a required plan.

  4. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay

Online checkout and VenueOra kiosks take card, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with card-present payments on registered terminals. Card data never touches your tills, kiosks or lockers; it goes to a PCI DSS Level 1 acquiring partner.

  5. Concession kiosks via Posso UK

Self-ordering kiosks and ePOS tills for concessions are supplied, installed and supported by Posso UK. Posso reports up to 30% higher average order value with kiosks across its customers; the figures are Posso’s, not ours.

  6. Lockers for bags and chargers

LockVault, our smart-locker service, installs fitted banks of 24 to 240 lockers or container hubs of up to 180 at no upfront cost. Fans hire in under 30 seconds and the venue receives a share of rental revenue.

The dashboard

A guestlist built for the gate

Gate staff search by name, email or ticket code, filter to who is due to arrive and who is checked in, and check fans in from the row; export and check-in analytics sit on the same page.

Outcomes

What changes for your venue

01

Shorter queues on the concourse

VenueOra kiosks sell walk-in tickets and Posso kiosks take food orders while tills serve. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay at the gate, the kiosk and the locker take cash handling off the concourse.

02

Season tickets that renew

A season ticket run as a plan carries renewal reminders and lifecycle emails for due, lapsed and win-back holders. Members-only ticket types and scheduled publishing give holders their own release before general sale.

03

One record per fan

Ticket, plan, wallet pass and locker assignment sit on one record. Staff refund, reissue or resend from the order, and messaging reaches ticket buyers by event or by ticket type.

Why one platform

Gate, concourse and locker on one fan record

An arena usually runs ticketing, catering and lockers as three contracts with three reports. VenueOra puts the ticket, the check-in and the locker on one record, with Posso UK on the concession hardware and LockVault on the lockers.

Posso hardware, Posso figures

ePOS, kiosk and kitchen display hardware is supplied, installed and supported by Posso Ltd under our partnership. Performance figures are Posso’s, from its own customers.

Lockers that arrive on a lorry

Shipping-container hubs of up to 180 lockers arrive on a lorry and run within hours, self-powered by a solar roof and on-board battery and connected by Starlink. Capacity is 5,000+ rental cycles a day per container.

Card data never touches your tills

Payments across the group run through a PCI DSS Level 1 acquiring partner, so card data never touches your tills, kiosks or lockers. Tokenisation and 3-D Secure 2 are standard for online checkout.

Reporting the board can read

FAQ

Questions venues ask

How do cashless payments work at an arena on VenueOra?

Fans pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay online, at a VenueOra kiosk for walk-in tickets and on registered card terminals at the door, with payment status polled back to the order. Concession tills and self-ordering kiosks from Posso UK take cards and contactless, and VenueOra provides payment processing on the Posso platform. Where the venue uses that hardware, VenueOra kiosks also support RFID scan, face verification and wristband pairing for entry.

Can season tickets run as memberships?

Yes, a season ticket is sold as an annual or monthly plan at the price the venue sets, with renewal reminders and lifecycle emails for due, lapsed and win-back holders. Ticket types can require a plan, so a fixture or concert can open to holders first through a members-only ticket type with scheduled publishing, then to the public. Holders sign in by password or magic link to see outstanding payments and download tickets.

Who supplies the concession tills and kiosks?

Posso UK, our hardware and installation partner, supplies, installs, trains and supports the ePOS tills, self-ordering kiosks, kitchen display systems, digital menu boards and card machines. Posso reports 500+ UK restaurants and venues, labour cost reductions of up to 25% and critical support response under 15 minutes; those figures are Posso’s, from its own customers. VenueOra provides payment processing on the Posso platform and the ticketing behind it.

What does arena cashless payments UK pricing look like with VenueOra?

Two published plans per venue: Free at £0 a month and £1.50 per ticket sold, or Venue at £150 a month and 80p per ticket sold, with every module included and a bespoke plan for groups and high volumes. Card processing and terminals are quoted with your plan. Concession hardware is quoted by Posso UK with the licence. LockVault lockers carry no upfront cost; the venue’s share is agreed after a site survey, with a proposal within 48 hours.

Can lockers be added for a single concert or tour date?

Yes, LockVault container hubs of up to 180 lockers arrive on a lorry and run within hours, self-powered and Starlink-connected, so most sites need no mains power or Wi-Fi. Fitted banks of 24 to 240 lockers suit a permanent concourse. Fans hire in under 30 seconds by tapping a card, or pre-book by phone with a QR code on arrival. LockVault handles support, refunds and maintenance and monitors the lockers 24/7.

Can we scan tickets at more than one entrance?

Yes, reception mode runs on as many phones and kiosks as the venue registers, each showing the current event with guestlist search and QR scan. A ticket already used is rejected. Kiosks report a heartbeat and an error log so the control room knows each device is up. Live capacity and sales show on the event in the dashboard, and the daily capacity report covers the night afterwards.
