Card terminals
Card terminals for the door, the bar and the locker bank
VenueOra brings three kinds of card payment machine to UK events and venues: VenueOra terminals that take payment from an order at the door, Posso card machines for staffed bars and tills, and LockerPay terminals that take payment unattended at kiosks and lockers.
Step by step
How it works
- 1
Map every payment point
We walk the site with you and list each point of sale: the door and ticket desk, staffed bars and traders, and unattended kiosks and locker banks. Each point gets the card machine that fits how it is used.
- 2
Register terminals to the venue
Card terminals for the door are registered against your venue in VenueOra. From any order, staff take payment on a terminal: card-present, Apple Pay or Google Pay, with the payment status polled until it clears.
- 3
Posso fits the staffed bars
Posso, our hardware and installation partner, supplies and installs card machines for staffed bars and tills, trains your team and supports them on the day. Contactless and chip and PIN, with next-day settlement.
- 4
LockerPay fits the unattended points
LockerPay certified Android and SoftPOS terminals embed in kiosk hardware or stand alone at locker banks. They take tap, chip and PIN, NFC and QR, and queue transactions if the connection drops.
What you get
Card payment machines for events
Posso card machines for festival bars, arena concourses and traders. Contactless and chip and PIN, next-day settlement, and support from the people who installed them, quoted by Posso with your ePOS licence.
Terminals on the door
VenueOra registers card terminals per venue. A ticket desk or reception takes payment on a terminal straight from the order, and the dashboard polls the payment status until it is confirmed.
Unattended payment terminals
LockerPay terminals are certified Android and SoftPOS devices for kiosks and lockers. Tap, chip and PIN, NFC and QR, with an offline-tolerant transaction queue on Linux, Android and Windows kiosks.
Built for short hire
For lockers and hire kit, LockerPay places an authorisation hold, captures on close-out, tops up for late returns and handles partial refunds and disputes without staff at the point of sale.
Card data stays off your hardware
Card data goes to a PCI DSS Level 1 acquiring partner, with tokenisation, 3-D Secure 2 and machine-learning fraud scoring as standard. Card data never touches your tills, kiosks or lockers.
Heartbeat on every device
Each registered kiosk and terminal sends a heartbeat and a client error log, so a device that has gone quiet shows up in the dashboard before a queue forms in front of it.

Three terminals, one partnership
Staffed or unattended, each point gets the machine built for it
A festival or arena takes payment in a dozen places on one day. VenueOra puts a terminal on the door, Posso puts a card machine in the hand of bar staff, and LockerPay puts a terminal on the locker bank. Each is supported by the people who built it, and card data goes to the same acquiring partner from all three.
Posso at staffed points
Posso, our hardware and installation partner, supplies, installs, trains and supports the card machines your staff hold. Posso reports free setup and training and UK-based support across its own customers.
LockerPay at unattended points
LockerPay is part of LockVault, our smart-locker service. Its certified terminals were built for lockers and kiosks first, so holds, top-ups and refunds work without a member of staff.
VenueOra at the door
VenueOra terminals are registered to your venue and take payment from an order: a walk-up ticket, an on-site payment or a locker rented at the door. VenueOra also processes the card payments taken on Posso tills.
Rates quoted with your plan
Card rates are not published on this site. They depend on volume, mix and how many points you run, so they are quoted with your plan. Ask for a quote and we come back with the full picture.
Outcomes
What changes for your venue
01
One partnership to call
The door, the bar and the locker bank come through one partnership. Posso supports the card machines it installed, LockerPay supports the terminals in kiosks and lockers, and VenueOra supports its own terminals and processes the payments.
02
Contactless at every point
Attendees tap at the bar, the ticket desk and the locker bank without a cash float. Settlement arrives next day from Posso machines and daily, itemised, from LockerPay terminals.
03
Door payments on the order
A payment taken on a VenueOra terminal sits on the order beside online sales, so the sales, VAT and daily capacity reports cover the walk-up ticket and the pre-booked one alike.
About the figures on this page
ePOS, kiosk and kitchen display hardware is supplied, installed and supported by Posso Ltd under our partnership. Performance figures are Posso's, from its own customers.
FAQ
Questions venues ask
Which card payment machine do I need for an event in the UK?
It depends on who is at the point of sale. At the door and ticket desk, a VenueOra terminal takes payment from the order. For staffed bars, traders and tills, Posso card machines take contactless and chip and PIN with next-day settlement. For kiosks and locker banks with nobody serving, LockerPay certified Android and SoftPOS terminals take tap, chip and PIN, NFC and QR without staff. Most events run all three, and we map each point with you before anything is installed.
What are your card terminal rates?
Card terminal and processing rates are quoted with your plan rather than published on this site. They depend on your card volume, the mix of contactless and chip and PIN, how many staffed and unattended points you run and whether lockers or kiosks are part of the deployment. Request a quote from the pricing page and we return a written figure that covers hardware, installation and support in the same document.
Who installs and supports the card machines?
Posso, our hardware and installation partner, supplies, installs, trains and supports the card machines at staffed points. Posso reports free setup and training, UK-based support and a critical support response under 15 minutes across its own customers. Terminals in kiosks and lockers are LockerPay devices, supported through LockVault, our smart-locker service. Terminals on the door are registered in VenueOra and supported by us, so whichever device has a problem, you have one partnership to call.
Do the unattended terminals work if the signal drops?
Yes, within limits. LockerPay kiosk integrations on Linux, Android and Windows carry an offline-tolerant transaction queue, so a kiosk or locker bank keeps taking payments through a short loss of connection and sends them on when it returns. LockVault containers are Starlink-connected and self-powered, so they do not rely on the venue's Wi-Fi or mains. VenueOra terminals and kiosks report a heartbeat, so a device that drops off is visible in the dashboard. Ask us about your site and we will say what is realistic.
Is card data stored on our tills or terminals?
No. Card data goes to a PCI DSS Level 1 acquiring partner and never touches your tills, kiosks or lockers, or VenueOra-hosted code. Tokenisation, 3-D Secure 2 and machine-learning fraud scoring run as standard on LockerPay payments. This reduces what your venue has to protect, but it does not make you compliant by itself; your own PCI DSS obligations and assessment remain yours, and we describe what the hardware does rather than give legal advice.
Can one terminal take payment for tickets and lockers?
At the door, yes. A VenueOra terminal takes payment from any order, and with the Locker Management module a locker can be rented from the door or kiosk and assigned to a ticket or a member, so the same terminal covers the walk-up ticket and the locker. LockVault locker banks take their own payment at the touchscreen kiosk through LockerPay, by tapping a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or by pre-booking by phone with a QR code on arrival.
